Brothers and Sisters in Immediate need of your prayers...

For secur_ty reasons, the details of this announcement are limited. Nonetheless, I beg you to understand that this information is true, pressing and happening as these words are typed. The friends in need are truly our friends. I, who write these words, know some of these persons by name.

Background:
In a nation where Christian conversion among native peoples is forbidden, the Gospel, nonetheless spreads. Among those who have responded, some have been taught that it is right and good to practice self-preservation under persecution: deny Christ and His people. Others hold to their faith with a Biblically and  historically supported understanding that the name of Jesus is not to be denied, even when the believer is faced with the threat of death (among other horribly fallen threats.)

Last week (at the time of this posting) some believers were arrested and questioned. Some of these "believers" were willing to deny Christ. Yesterday, as an apparent result of these events, names of true believers have been publicly published and churches and families are bracing for the searches, arrests and threats that have already begun.

The Plea for Prayer:
Please commit to pray with us (believers around the world) as these events unfold.

1. Pray for Christ's Name to be honored and glorified in the lives of His children.
2. Pray for the Gospel of Jesus to be clear to ALL who observe these events.
3. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in the hearts of the law enforcement officers, the judges, the lawyers and the prison guards -- that they might see Jesus as Savior and Lord.

4. Pray for the families whose husbands and fathers are arrested.
5. Pray for the children whose parents are arrested.
6. Pray for those willing to hide and protect the believers.

7. Pray for the pastors of Christ's congregation. Pray for strength to stand, even when the cost is immeasurable.
8. Pray for the leaders who do not really know Christ and who have denied and encouraged others to deny His Name. Pray for conviction, conversion and repentance.

9. Pray that in each aspect ("good" and "bad"), God would be glorified.
10. Pray that as a result of this period of persecution, the Church will flourish.

STAND WITH THEM (they will know)

A Google calendar has been created for us to place our names in 15min time appointments all around the clock.

By placing your name in a slot, you are committing to pray for your persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ for the period you select.

Please feel free to include your geographical location and a description of some of the things you will pray (e.g. from the list of items, above.)

The appointment will display on your own Google Calendar and you can set up reminders from there just as you would for your other events.

The appointment will also display on the Will U Pray calendar [Link to Calendar (read-only)] as an encouragement to all and as a public indication that YOU have taken a stand for Jesus.

Will U Pray?
